We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a London specialist provider of care and support for Children and Young People aged 7 -18 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be providing comprehensive support for those with a history of mental health challenges, residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities. You will be integral to the development and implementation of their residential care services working closely with the team ensuring the highest standards of care and support are provided.
The role involves, but not limited:
* Daily Care and Support: Provide day-to-day support to children and young people, assisting with personal care, daily activities, and emotional needs. Foster a positive and supportive environment to aid their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Implement individualized care plans and continually monitor the wellbeing of each child.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding practices. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, childcare legislation, and the homes internal policies.
* Collaborate with other care staff, sharing responsibilities and supporting each other to deliver the best care possible. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a cohesive work environment.
* Maintain clear and open communication with residents, their families, and colleagues. Keep detailed and accurate records, and prepare reports as needed.
To apply, you must:
* NVQ Level 2 Children's Workforce is essential
* Previous experience working with children in a residential setting is highly desirable.
* Understanding of child development and trauma-informed care is advantageous.
