The Role
Financial Reporting & Group Control
5. Own monthly and quarterly close across a diverse portfolio of entities
6. Prepare and review management accounts, including variance analysis and commercial commentary
7. Lead statutory accounts, consolidations, VAT returns, and intercompany processes
8. Maintain key balance sheet areas including accruals, prepayments, and loan schedules
Strategic Exposure & Stakeholder Influence
9. Produce high-quality performance reporting using Power BI and advanced Excel
10. Present financial insights directly to shareholders and project boards
11. Partner with operational and technical teams to support investment and project decisions
Governance, Risk & External Relationships
12. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and jurisdictional reporting requirements
13. Act as the key contact for external auditors and tax advisers
14. Monitor loan covenants and funding facility deliverables
Process Improvement & Transformation
15. Strengthen internal controls and contribute to finance transformation projects
16. Improve reporting processes through automation and system enhancements
About You
This role suits someone currently in Audit or Accounting Advisory who is ready to move closer to commercial decision-making:
17. ACA / CA / ACCA qualified (or finalist with strong experience)
18. Strong grounding in financial reporting, group structures, and controls
19. Confident working with senior stakeholders and explaining financial information clearly
20. Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or data analytics experience beneficial
Experience in asset management or infrastructure is not essential - this role provides a pathway into the sector.
