Senior Associate - Clinical Negligence - Newport - 5+ Years PQE
Location: Newport (with hybrid working flexibility)

Salary: £50,000 to £70,000
A respected and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor with 5+ years' post-qualification experience in Clinical Negligence to join its established team in Newport. This is a leadership role offering the opportunity to shape departmental strategy, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the firm's wider business goals-all within a flexible hybrid working model.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
* Managing a caseload of complex clinical negligence matters
* Leading and developing fee-earners and support staff within the department
* Supporting the firm’s business plan and contributing to strategic initiatives
* Attending external business development events (target: 1 per month)
* Participating in management meetings and subcommittees
* Strengthening client relationships and introducing new business
* Ensuring a safe and productive working environment
Candidate Requirements
* Admission to the Solicitors Roll or Institute for Paralegals
* 5+ years PQE in clinical negligence or related litigation
* Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
* Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* High attention to detail and professional standards
* Confidence in balancing competing priorities and managing conflict
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities in the workplace
Desirable
* Willingness to work outside normal office hours when reasonably required
