Overview
The Cancer Information and Support Services team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust delivers high quality, person‑centred support to people affected by cancer across the Trust.
The Lead – Cancer Information and Support Services manages the North Norfolk Macmillan Information Centre, the NNUH Macmillan Information Pod and the Cancer Care Navigator team. The role ensures patients, families and carers receive timely, evidence‑based information, emotional support and practical guidance throughout the cancer pathway.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑impact leadership, shaping and developing the Trust’s cancer information provision.
* Lead service development, policy creation and the contribution to the Trust’s cancer information strategy.
* Line manage the Cancer Care Navigator team, including sickness and absence management, workload monitoring and rostering.
* Carry out appraisals and develop Personal Development Plans for team members.
* Coordinate volunteers, education and training for staff and patients.
* Support the implementation of new procedures and best practice, maintaining full and complete records in line with Trust policy.
* Build partnerships with clinical, community and national organisations such as the Integrated Care Board and Macmillan Cancer Support.
* Act as a specialist resource in cancer information, covering the full spectrum of cancers, treatments, psychosocial and financial matters.
* Provide confidential support to patients and carers using recognised counselling skills.
* Work in the Rouen Road office and rotate across the NNUH and Cromer information and support services.
