Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health, and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About the role

To further support our student success on the ARU Certificate for Professional Development (ARUCPD) programme, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated professional to join our award-winning Student Engagement Team within the Faculty of Business and Law. Our team is recognised for its excellence and innovation, making significant strides in enhancing student experience and engagement.

Our ARUCPD programme is one of the most ambitious and innovative projects at the university, aimed at fostering professional development and student success. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate student records, processing applications, extensions, and withdrawal requests, as well as monitoring eligibility for ARUCPD credits and certificates. You will facilitate ARUCPD Accreditation Boards, prepare meeting minutes, and manage student and module data. Additionally, you will maintain and update ARUCPD learning platforms, ensuring timely resolution of any access or technical issues, and support students with queries related to ARUCPD via email, virtual calls, and online chats. Your efforts will directly impact our students' academic and professional journeys, contributing to the broader success of our Faculty.

You will have a key role in developing and maintaining effective communication channels with students and module leaders, ensuring timely updates and support, and assisting in data reporting and analysis, including student data analysis and feedback summaries. You will bring excellent customer service skills, IT literacy, and strong communication and interpersonal skills to the role. Your ability to plan and progress work activities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines will be essential. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, self-motivation, flexibility, and innovation when taking on new projects. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree or two A-levels or equivalent and will have the confidence to liaise with a range of people, including presenting in front of colleagues and students if required.

A background in Higher or Further Education is desirable, as is experience with data analysis. You should be organised with excellent time management skills, a proactive and flexible attitude, and a commitment to continuous learning and development. Customer-focused with an enthusiastic approach, you will support all stakeholders and contribute to the continued success and growth of the ARUCPD programme.

Informal enquiries can be made to Ludmila Mateta, Interim Student Engagement Manager, at ludmila.mateta@aru.ac.uk.

Please note that the role is based in Cambridge. It allows hybrid work and may occasionally require travel to Chelmsford campus.

We have an agile working culture and offer an extensive range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package. Visit our benefits page for full details.

We value diversity at ARU and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We have a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK. In accordance with the UK Government’s immigration points-based system, this post does not meet the characteristics of a skilled job including salary criteria to be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We reserve the right to close this vacancy once we have received sufficient applications.
