We’re excited to welcome a Management Accountant to our supportive, talented Finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. We are looking for people who:
* Have a broad range of general accountant experience
* Are comfortable with management accounts
* Experience posting journals and trial balances
* Understand month end results
* Have Financial Services experience, desirable but not essential
What you’ll be doing:
Financial & Management Reporting
* Preparing timely, accurate monthly financial reporting for review by the Senior Management Accountant and Head of Finance.
* Assisting with internal MI for Executive Committee and Society committees.
* Supporting the production of the 2026 Annual Report & Accounts, working closely with external auditors.
* Using MI tools to provide ad‑hoc financial modelling and analysis for business planning.
* Acting as an authoriser within treasury and financial payment processes.
Accounting Estimates & Technical Analysis
* Supporting monthly management account outputs relating to key accounting estimates.
* Preparing data and systems inputs for areas such as Effective Interest Rate (EIR) and Software as a Service (SaaS) provisions.
* Preparing year‑end accounting estimates and supporting analysis for external audit review.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Management
* Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the Society’s 5‑year planning process.
* Supporting monthly cost reporting and helping budget holders understand performance against budget.
Financial Controls, Risk & Governance
* Helping maintain a robust financial control environment.
* Working collaboratively across Finance, Treasury and wider departments.
* Liaising with auditors and internal stakeholders to provide accurate financial information
