Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Playspaces Arbroath on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and play. This position requires strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a genuine love for working with children.

This position will be part time.

Responsibilities

* Work together to create and implement age-appropriate provocations and plans for the children in your care.
* Provide a warm, safe and welcoming atmosphere for children, ensuring their needs are listened to.
* Manage daily routines such as transitions, meals, sleeps, while encouraging positive interactions among children.
* Communicate effectively with families about children's progress, daily feedback and any concerns that may arise.
* Observe and assess children's development, documenting their achievements, milestones and progress.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all children and promotes teamwork with co-workers.
* Keep a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
* Adhere to relevant national and local standards and be willing to under take relevant training for professional development.

Person specification

* A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential. HNC or equivalent.
* Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is highly desirable.
* A strong understanding of child development and early years frameworks (such as Realising the Ambition).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues and build relationships.
* SSSC registration (or eligibility to register) and PVG scheme membership.
* A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to fostering children's development.
* Ability to demonstrate creativity in planning engaging activities that stimulate learning.
* A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
