Overview
Bike Club is a pioneering force in children’s bike subscription services. We are the second-largest bike rental network globally and the largest in the children’s bike sector. Our headquarters are in the United Kingdom, and we are also active in Germany. We offer subscriptions for children’s bikes that grow with your kids, refurbish used bikes, and make them available to other families.
Responsibilities
* As a Senior Mechanic, you will play a key role in the workshop, ensuring high-quality servicing, repairs, and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs). You will oversee the bike workflow from start to finish.
* Support the development of Junior and Intermediate Mechanics, help maintain workshop efficiency and uphold safety & quality standards.
* Technical Work & Performance Targets
o Complete 15 rebike services & repairs per day or 20 new bike PDIs per day.
o Perform advanced servicing, diagnostics, and repairs (brake systems, drivetrains, wheels, steering, suspension/rigid forks, gear systems).
o Quality control (QC) bikes before packing to ensure safety, cleanliness and performance standards.
o Report quality control issues to the Operations Team and provide feedback to individual mechanics.
o Triage bikes on return, diagnose issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
o Assist in resolving technical problems in the workshop.
* Leadership & Workshop Operations
o Coach Intermediate & Junior mechanics, providing guidance and training.
o Promote teamwork and a healthy, inclusive workshop culture.
o Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) requirements.
o Keep the workshop clean and tidy, maintaining a well-organised workspace.
o Proactively share new ideas to create efficiency and improvements.
o Monitor parts usage and inventory, and report low stock to the line manager.
Requirements
* Cytech Level 2 certification (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience servicing hybrid, mountain, gravel, and BMX bikes (including rigid and suspension forks).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
* Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
* Target: production of a minimum of 75 rebikes or 100 new bikes per week; aim for a 98% fault-free rate for bikes sent to members.
