Responsibilities Will Include
* Lead and mentor a team of naval architects, providing technical guidance and assuring the output of the team in the delivery of our products.
* Create an efficient department built on industry‑leading techniques and data‑driven solutions to minimize the time from problem to product.
* Develop and take responsibility for the naval architecture roadmap for future projects.
* Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Confidently interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical expertise.
* Maintain and champion excellent verbal and written communication with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
* Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing project requirements and timelines.
* Lead the team in adopting new technologies, processes, and methodologies.
* Manage change effectively to ensure minimal disruption to project delivery and team dynamics.
* The post holder is required to be aware of and fulfil those roles and responsibilities applicable to them contained within SubSea Craft Policies.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or a related field.
* Proven track record in designing advanced maritime platforms, preferably including subsurface vessels.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for personal development of others.
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Rhino, Inventor, Star‑CCM+, Paramarine, Maxsurf).
* Familiarity with Atlassian suite is beneficial.
* Professional registration (chartership) with an appropriate institution desirable.
Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.
