Consultant Psychologist Reference PRI101145 Location Mill Garth Hospital, Millpond Lane, Meanwood, Leeds, Yorkshire, LS6 4RA Priory Group Division Healthcare Salary £46,800 per annum Hours 22.5 Vacancy Type Permanent - Part Time Job Advert Role Description About the Service: Mill Garth Hospital is a 19-bed high dependency recovery and rehabilitation hospital, located in Meanwood Leeds. We provide active and positive engagement for males aged 18 years and over, who experience a range of mental health disorders. Responsibilities: • Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned clients using appropriate and relevant treatments, activities and interventions. • Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the client's therapy plan. • Manages an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with clients, professional colleagues and clinical staff. • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned clients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular MDT meetings. • Leads and co-ordinates professional and clinical colleagues, providing psychotherapeutic advice and guidance, and assists with the analysis of statistical data and information for research and audit purposes. • Identifies, evaluates and implements new and improved methods, techniques and interventions based upon best practice and evidence-based research. The role holder is a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Knowledge / Education / Skills: This role requires a relevant Masters degree as a minimum and a recognised post-graduate qualification together with accreditation from the relevant professional institution (BABCP, BCP, BPS or equivalent). Experience: It is important that candidates have prior experience and exposure to practice within psychology. It would be advantageous of they have DBT training, and are experienced in HR20 report writing. Communication: Highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills are critical, as this role requires building trust and confidence of patients in order for treatment and interventions to be effective and successful Clinical Supervision: Responsible for the clinical supervision of the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Practitioner. Budgets & Equipment: Holds a shared responsibility for the care and operation of standard equipment. Information Management & Security: Holds a personal and shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information. Safeguarding: All colleagues have a responsibility to protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals at risk (whether children or adults). Colleagues must be aware of local child and adult protection procedures and who to contact within the Local Authority Safeguarding team for further advice. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding awareness training and to undertake additional training appropriate to their role.
