Bid Manager – West Midlands
CLIENT
Linum Consult’s client – a world leader in specialised civil engineering – is currently seeking a Bid Manager to develop winning tender strategies and deliver successful bids. This role will be based out of their West Midlands office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Defining the tender strategy in relation to the relevant opportunity, including partnering and pricing strategies in line with the company’s objectives
* Assessing invitations to tender, ensuring a continual pipeline of quality business is sustained
* Leading the team to deliver successful offers, including preparation of bids and quotes
* Soliciting suppliers’ bids and proposals for labour, materials and equipment, and evaluating proposals to ensure they meet the applicable specifications and budget objectives
* Contributing to contract negotiations and supervising the winning bids handover to the Operational Teams
* Ensuring the implementation of bid governance requirements
* Engaging regularly with clients and partners in order to analyse context, competition and market potential
* Identifying opportunities for potential new clients and specifying project targets, with a view to turning them into new business
REQUIREMENTS
* Degree qualification in an Engineering or Construction subject is preferred
* Previous experience of bid preparation and management in the construction sector, including structural repairs and refurbishments
* Good understanding of construction working practices, regulations, and industry standards to support accurate and competitive bids
* Strong financial acumen: understanding of construction cost estimation, budgeting, and pricing strategies to develop competitive bids
* Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts in easy-to-understand ways and convey ideas graphically
* Excellent research skills and highly IT literate
* The right to live and work in the UK
