Enhancing independence. Promoting wellbeing. Safeguarding those who need us most.

Adult Services is excited to recruit a motivated and compassionate professional to join our team. This new role will play a vital part in supporting individuals—particularly those experiencing Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV)—to achieve outcomes that enhance independence, safety and overall wellbeing.

About the Role

You will work at the forefront of our Information, Advice and Assistance (IAA) and safeguarding pathways, ensuring that people receive timely, accurate and empowering support. Through a strength‑based, collaborative approach, you will help individuals identify what matters to them and access the tools, services and community networks needed to thrive safely and independently.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide signposting, information and advice at the Adult Services access points in line with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
* Deliver a positive customer experience, ensuring individuals are provided with clear, accurate and accessible information and guidance.
* Undertake proportionate assessments with individuals experiencing VAWDASV, identifying personalised outcomes and asset‑based solutions.
* Apply the national eligibility criteria, recognising personal strengths and community resources.
* Offer advice on target hardening equipment (including technology‑based safety solutions) to support individuals to remain safe and independent in their homes.
* Work with local communities to identify gaps, strengthen resilience, and support the development of groups, networks and community‑based initiatives. Maintain and update the relevant community resource databases.
* Commission innovative, proportionate care and support packages, aligned with what matters to the individual. Review and monitor plans in collaboration with the individual and provider.
* Analyse and respond to presenting risks and complexity, ensuring the right level of intervention.
* Recognise and respond to Adult and Children's safeguarding concerns, acting in line with Part 7 of the SSWB Act and Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including involvement in MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences).
* Provide non‑judgemental risk management advice and support individuals navigating the criminal justice and civil legal systems.
* Build strong, positive working relationships with partner agencies to enable coordinated, person‑centred intervention.
* Contribute to statutory responsibilities relating to MARAC processes.
* Commit to ongoing professional development, participating in training and working towards relevant qualifications where appropriate.
* Adhere to all departmental and local authority policies and procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

* Compassionate, trauma‑informed and person‑centred
* Confident in managing risk and navigating safeguarding processes
* Skilled in partnership working and multi‑agency environments
* Able to balance autonomy with teamwork
* Motivated to support individuals experiencing VAWDASV
* Committed to continuous learning and professional growth
