Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Secondary – SEND – Walsall
A welcoming and supportive secondary school in Walsall is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their SEND unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a school with excellent behaviour, an outstanding SENCO, and a strong reputation for supporting both students and staff.
Responsibilities
* Supporting students with SEND across Key Stages 3 and 4 in lessons and small group sessions.
* Delivering tailored interventions to help students make progress academically and socially.
* Working with the SENCO to plan and evaluate SEND provision.
* Supporting behaviour management strategies and promoting positive engagement.
* Guiding and mentoring teaching assistants within the SEND unit.
* Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families to ensure consistent support.
Qualifications
* HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
* Experience working with SEND students, ideally in a secondary setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* The ability to support and mentor other staff effectively.
* A commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
