The ARRS funding has created a great opportunity for aGP who is newly qualified. The post-holder must be within 2 years of completingtheir Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and not previously beenemployed as a GP in General Practice. They will gain some experience workingwith the team in Dudley, in a friendly purpose built building. They will managea caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.
Main duties of the job
* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
* Providing counselling and health education
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
Report and action appropriately on pathology reports, read and action all clinical letters via DOCMAN, and complete clinical audits
About us
We are looking for 2 sessions per week, Wednesday & Thursday PM sessions. StJames's Medical practice, is a busy GP surgery based in Dudley. We have apractice population of 6000 patients.
Ourclinical team is made up of GP partners, salaried GPs Advanced NursePractitioner, Practice Nurses, HCAs and Practice based Pharmacist. We are atraining practice and are supported by a strong administrative team.
