We are looking for Senior Software Engineers with experience in application design and development, working on solutions within our Fraud portfolio Digital Defences team. As we upgrade our legacy infrastructure, redevelop and enhance applications, you will be part of a team driving forward technical excellence and helping to shaping the future landscape.Nationwide is on a continuous journey to reduce the impact of Fraud on its Members by improving the capabilities of our prevention tools. In recent years the focus on Faster Payment fraud prevention has grown significantly, therefore so too has the necessity for Nationwide to improve our Fraud defences, including working collaboratively with the Payments and Banking Industry. In May 2019 Nationwide signed up to the Contingent Reimbursement Model (CRM). This code of conduct focuses on the reduction of APP scams, while increasing the proportion of customers protected from their impact and minimising the disruption to legitimate transactions. Adherence to requirements of the CRM is enforced to a regulatory standard by the Lending Standards Board (LSB) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The CRM requirements continue to grow, there are many requirements which Financial Institutions must meet, and these requirements will continue to grow and iterate over time.In addition to the CRM there is the anticipation of regulatory changes to expand the Payments Services Directive which is expected to require changes to the Faster Payments landscape. The regulatory lens sits closely alongside industry initiatives endorsed by law enforcement, Pay.UK, Stop Scams and others. Initiatives such as ‘Enhanced Fraud Data Sharing’ set expectations upon the ‘key players’ within the UK banking sector to disrupt Economic Crime through data sharing and detection/prevention enhancements, all of which are Change resource heavy. To ensure we are set up for success, it is critical that we develop a core technology team with knowledge of the industry, Nationwide's way of working and enhanced technologies. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible.
