The Opportunity
This is a standout opportunity to join Holcim at Bardon Hill Quarry, one of our flagship sites, as a Preventive Maintenance Engineer. In this role, youll take ownership of the Preventive Maintenance Section, leading planning, scheduling, heavy mobile equipment and stores functions to drive world-class asset reliability.
This is a position for someone who thrives on structure, strategy and continuous improvement. Youll be central to optimising plant availability, improving maintenance coordination and embedding a culture of safety and performance excellence across the engineering function. What Youll Be Doing Leading the Preventive Maintenance Section, managing planning & scheduling, HME and stores functions
Acting as a visible safety leader and role model, embedding a culture of safety excellence across all maintenance activities
Deputising for the Engineering Manager when required and supporting overall engineering strategy
Defining and implementing a robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategy to maximise long-term asset reliability
Planning major shutdowns and outages to ensure efficient execution at the lowest sustainable cost
Driving root cause failure analysis to eliminate repeat issues and improve equipment performance
Balancing workloads and resources to ensure optimal utilisation across teams and disciplines
Championing lubrication excellence and asset condition monitoring best practice
Delivering safety and induction training to maintain compliance and competence
Running company systems thoroughly and effectively to ensure accurate planning, reporting and KPI tracking
Setting clear standards of engineering performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Proposing innovative and cost-effective solutions to enhance site performance and reliability
What Youll Bring Strong engineering background within heavy industry, quarrying or manufacturing environments
Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance planning and asset management
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct structured root cause analysis
Strategic and financial awareness to balance cost, performance and reliability
Strong organisational and workload planning capability
High IT literacy and confidence working within maintenance management systems
Confident leadership style with the ability to influence, coach and develop others
A proactive, pragmatic mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
Deep commitment to health, safety and operational excellence
