Role Summary
This Senior Housekeeping team role is a key supervisory position and works closely with the Housekeeping Manager in ensuring the team, which includes Housekeepers, Cottage Cleaners and Linen Drivers; they are briefed and feel fully supported. You allocate tasks and duties to each team member according to their shift schedule and agree working ratios. Offering guidance and training as and when needed.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping team to ensure our high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and order is maintained in the cottages, hotel bedrooms, and front of house guest areas, as well as the back of house staff facilities. Your role involves supervising staff, conducting inspections, coordinating work schedules, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
As part of a close-knit team, you GUIDE THE WAY by leading through example and collaborating with fellow team members to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest. You strive to exceed guest expectations whether they are staying overnight in one of our hotel rooms or for a few days enjoying one of our self-catering lodges.
Role Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, this exciting senior housekeeping role provides a warm, friendly, professional, and efficient service for all our guests. You have a natural ability to work well within a team and can stay composed under pressure ensuring our ambitious standards are maintained.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including hotel and cottage cleaners and linen drivers. Allocating tasks and duties to team members according to their individual shift schedule and agree working ratios.
Conduct daily inspections of the guest bedrooms, the self-catering cottages, front of house guest areas and other back of house facilities to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained. Keep your workspace clean and organised, encouraging your team to do so too. Provide training and support to housekeeping staff.
Consult with other departments to ensure a seamless stay for our guests. When required assist with duties in our onsite laundry and supporting with cleaning duties in each area of the resort. Undertake deep cleans as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.
Maintain a friendly approach with guests whilst respecting their privacy during their stay. Respond to any guest requests and feedback efficiently. Ensure the security of guest accommodation and their belonging during the execution of your duties.
Approach all that we do with SIMPLICITY providing guests with any requested items quickly and efficiently. Provide guidance, support and motivation to assist junior team members. Encourage a positive and efficient work environment while ensuring teamwork and consistent high standards. Ensure guests are satisfied throughout their stay, attending to any additional needs.
With fantastic attention to detail, the housekeeping team DELIVER RESULTS and ensure each area of the resort is kept immaculately clean and well-presented from our hotel rooms and self-catering cottages to the guest areas in our front of house, reception, all kept fresh, clean, and tidy.
Role Competencies
Previous experience within a supervisory role within a high-volume or resort environment, or in a hotel or Restaurant, together with good people skills. Where teamwork and collaboration have been the key would be ideal. BE YOURSELF driving genuine, honest interactions, creating a culture of warmth and inclusivity.
Working independently and as part of a team comes naturally to you. Ability to work under pressure to juggle competing priorities with minimum supervision. You are calm, confident, and discreet, taking huge pride in your presentation. Exemplary time management with a vision for quality and excellence.
