Job Description Catering Assistant Join a fast-paced, friendly team where every day brings something new! We're looking for a proactive and energetic Catering Assistant to support our kitchen and front-of-house operations. If you love working with food, enjoy being part of a team, and thrive in a busy environment, this role is for you. What You'll Be Doing Food Prep & Support Help chefs with basic food preparation-chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients Assist in cooking and plating meals to high standards Service & Presentation Serve food and beverages with a smile Set up and clear dining areas to create a welcoming atmosphere Cleanliness & Hygiene Keep the kitchen spotless-wash dishes, clean surfaces, and maintain hygiene protocols Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use Stock & Deliveries Receive and unpack deliveries Monitor stock levels and check expiry dates to keep everything fresh and safe Kitchen Operations Report equipment faults and help maintain a smooth-running kitchen Follow health and safety guidelines at all times Customer Interaction Engage with customers in a friendly, helpful manner Handle feedback and assist at the till when needed What We're Looking For A team player with a positive attitude Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment Basic food prep skills (training provided) A commitment to cleanliness and safety Great communication and customer service skills Qualifications Required Skills and Qualities Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding tasks. Teamwork: Working effectively as part of a kitchen team. Attention to Detail: Crucial for food quality, hygiene, and managing customer allergies. Health and Safety Awareness: Understanding and following food safety and general health and safety regulations. Efficiency: Working quickly and efficiently to manage busy periods.
