Behaviour Support Assistant

Pay: £93 - £115

GSL Education Hull are currently recruiting for dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistants to work within an Alternative Provision setting.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
Supporting students who may display challenging behaviour
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
Implementing behaviour management strategies and intervention plans
Encouraging engagement, emotional regulation, and positive decision-making
Assisting teachers and pastoral teams to create a safe and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Support Assistant Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Possess strong communication and de-escalation skills
Be confident managing challenging situations positively and professionally
Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
