Equans is looking for a Joiner to join our team onsite at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA on permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive per annum. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
1. Carry out maintenance activities onsite at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
2. Carry out a variety of minor installation works as required.
3. Interpret work from drawings and instructions with minimum supervision
4. Work with and assist external contractors as required.
5. Liaise with University staff and students/occupants on a daily basis.
6. Complete all Task/Risk Assessment forms relating to work.
7. Supervise all outside contractor joinery/carpentry works/repairs on site.
8. Liaise with Contract Manager regarding plant or equipment failures and request spares/goods as necessary.
9. Assist in pricing and estimating of minor works.
10. Participate in shift working and on-call arrangements if required to by the business.
11. Be willing to work overtime if emergency repairs are necessary.
12. Be willing to undertake any training where necessary to learn new techniques as designated by Contract Manager.
13. Carry out any duties and tasks to assist colleagues as required by the Contract Manager.
14. Maintain tools and joiner workshop/storage areas/equipment areas in a correct and tidy manner.
15. Be flexible within the Facilities team assist other trades as and when required.
16. An eye for detail and quality workmanship.

Who are we looking for?
28. Appropriately recognised C&G, Scotvec (SVQ3), or equivalent in joinery.
29. Knowledge of building service systems and equipment.
30. Be competent to undertake work on systems and equipment involved in building services and hospital environment.
