Our client is currently seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of key infrastructure schemes under the United Utilities' AMP8/AMP9 capital programme. This role falls under Lot 2, focused on commercial and capital delivery resources across clean and wastewater projects. The position is based in Warrington with site travel across the North West as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage on-site construction activities across multiple water and wastewater schemes
Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of projects from mobilisation through to handover
Coordinate with design, commercial, and project teams to ensure construction programmes are achievable
Oversee subcontractor performance, quality, health & safety, and programme adherence
Act as key site contact for client, stakeholders, and third-party coordination
Maintain project documentation, site reports, and progress updates
Drive a proactive culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence
Job Requirements:
Experience as a Construction Manager within the UK water sector
Strong track record across clean and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
Excellent knowledge of CDM regulations and on-site delivery practices
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid qualifications are essential
Familiarity with NEC contracts and capital programme delivery
Confident in managing multiple subcontractors and reporting on programme performance
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to North West-based sites as required
Desirable:
Prior experience working on United Utilities frameworks
Background in engineering or civils/construction management (HNC/HND or equivalent)
Familiarity with commissioning and asset handover procedures
