MEICA Project Manager - Water Industry
Location: East Midlands (office-based with regular site travel)
We’re working with a well-established contractor in the UK water sector, looking to appoint an experienced MEICA Project Manager to lead delivery across a range of clean and wastewater projects.
This role will suit someone with a strong background in managing mechanical and electrical works within the water industry, with full responsibility for project delivery from award through to completion.
The Role:
* Lead delivery of MEICA projects across water and wastewater sites
* Manage projects from contract award through to completion and handover
* Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans
* Ensure compliance with WIMES, BS 7671, and client specifications
* Oversee site activities, coordinating engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
* Manage procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages
* Prepare and manage project documentation including RAMS, progress reports, and QA records
* Act as the main client interface, building and maintaining strong relationships
* Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
* Support testing, commissioning, and final handover
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water or utilities sector
* Strong understanding of MEICA systems including pumps, MCCs, pipework, and instrumentation
* Experience managing multiple projects and site teams simultaneously
* Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and contract management
* Confident communicator with strong client-facing experience
Qualifications:
* Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* APM, PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification
* SMSTS
* EUSR Water Hygiene / Confined Space
* Experience with planning tools (MS Project, Primavera)
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (M&E / Civils)
Additional Info:
* Office-based role with regular travel to sites and client meetings
* Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work and overnight stays
