Job Title: Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator Location: Stroud Salary: £19.00 per hour Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week (average 48 hours per week) About the Role We are seeking a skilled Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator to join our team, supporting projects within the water industry. You will be working alongside mechanical and civil engineering teams to fabricate and assemble high-quality components used in water infrastructure and treatment systems. Working Hours & Overtime * Standard working hours: 07:00 – 16:00, with a 1-hour unpaid break * Weekday hours are paid at the standard hourly rate * Overtime is typically available to meet project demands * Weekend shifts are paid at time and a half (£28.50 per hour) Key Responsibilities * Fabricate and weld mild steel and stainless steel components to engineering drawings and specifications * Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard * Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and blueprints * Assemble fabricated parts for installation in water industry projects * Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and industry standards * Carry out inspections and basic quality checks on completed work * Collaborate with mechanical and civil engineers to meet project requirements * Maintain a clean and safe working environment Requirements * Proven experience as a welder fabricator, particularly with stainless steel * Strong MIG and TIG welding skills * Ability to read and work from technical drawings * Experience working on infrastructure, water industry, or similar engineering projects (preferred) * Good understanding of health & safety regulations * Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality * Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Skills * Previous experience in the water or utilities sector * Welding certifications (e.g., coded welding) * Experience with site installation work What We Offer * Competitive hourly rate of £19.00 * Consistent workload with regular overtime opportunities * Weekend overtime paid at enhanced rate * Opportunity to work on specialist engineering projects within the water industry * Supportive team environment
