Care Assistant for a lady 11.75 hours@ £12.21 /hr in TS18 - FTE - £23.8k Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 288c301d I am a 59 year old lady living in the Hartburn area of Stockton who has advanced M/S. I need support to get up in the morning and to go to bed in the early evening. These aspects of my care are shared with another P.A. throughout the week. I live with my husband and our very friendly cockapoo. I have had MS for 14 years and I am now at the stage of needing hoisting for every transfer. Duties would include helping get me up in the morning, washed/showered and getting dressed and then getting me ready for bed. All aspects of personal care are needed. I have to rest on my side for a short time morning and night and during this time, some light domestic duties such as ironing, hoovering, dusting would be requested, but the main household duties are covered by my husband. I use a hoist for all transfers and our OT has assessed the transfers as needing one person only to use the ceiling track hoist. Experience of using a hoist and familiarity of one person hoisting is desirable, but training will be given. I also have 4 way glide sheets which connects to the hoist allowing easy turning of me and fine adjustments on the bed. I have had a colostomy and it will be necessary to remove/replace the stoma pouch and clean around the stoma. Also I have a catheter and you will need to change and empty waste. Training will be given. Extra hours will be available as you would be expected to cover our other PA’s holidays. The hours are: Monday and Friday am -2.5 hours to get me up and give me a shower and get me dressed. Thursday and Saturday am - 1.5 hours for washing and getting dressed. Monday, Thursday and Friday pm 1.25 hours for washing and getting ready for bed. The successful candidate would be subject to an enhanced DBS check, cost to be met by the employer. Funding is through the council and by Direct Payments.
