B2B Insolvency Business Development Manager (BDM) – Leeds Region
Location: Leeds and surrounding areas (field-based / on the road)
Salary: £40,000 basic + uncapped commission
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager (BDM) to develop new insolvency and restructuring opportunities across the Leeds region. This is a field-based role focused on generating meetings with business owners, directors, accountants, and professional introducers who may require advice relating to business insolvency, restructuring, or financial distress.
The successful candidate will proactively identify and engage businesses experiencing financial challenges, arrange and attend face-to-face meetings, gather relevant business information, and introduce opportunities to a JIEB Qualified Insolvency Practitioner for further consultation and case management.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys relationship building, networking, and consultative business development within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively cold call businesses across Leeds and surrounding areas to identify potential insolvency and restructuring opportunities
* Generate and attend meetings with:
* Business owners
* Company directors
* Accountants
* Professional introducers
* Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified insolvency leads
* Conduct fact-finding meetings to understand the financial position and challenges of businesses
* Collate and accurately record all relevant company information, including:
* Financial difficulties
* Creditor pressures
* HMRC arrears
* Cash flow concerns
* Company structure and trading position
* Prepare and submit detailed case notes and supporting documentation to the Insolvency Practitioner
* Work closely with the JIEB Qualified Insolvency Practitioner to ensure smooth handover of opportunities
* Maintain regular follow-up with introducers and prospects to build long-term referral relationships
* Attend networking events and local business meetings where appropriate
* Achieve and exceed monthly meeting and conversion targets
* Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, field sales, or lead generation
* Confident cold caller with strong objection-handling skills
* Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
* Professional and consultative approach when dealing with sensitive financial situations
* Self-motivated and target-driven
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Leeds area
* Strong organisational and reporting skills
Desirable
* Experience within insolvency, finance, commercial banking, merchant cash advance, or professional services
* Existing network of accountants or SME contacts
* Knowledge of insolvency processes including:
* CVLs
* Administrations
* Company restructuring
* Liquidation procedures
