Job Description
As a Senior Interaction Designer, you will design accessible, responsive user interfaces for our clients using a range of tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Marvel, and the GOV.UK prototyping tool kit.
Working with users and stakeholders to determine the best way to design products and services, considering both the end-to-end journey and individual design elements. You will join a growing community where you will have the opportunity to learn and share best practices and mentor others within the User Centred Design Practice.
We’re also looking for people that can start the 1st and 2nd week of September and to start this will be a 6 Month contract.
Responsibilities
* Design accessible, responsive user interfaces using tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Marvel, and GOV.UK prototyping toolkit.
* Work with users and stakeholders to determine the best way to design products and services, considering end-to-end journeys and individual design elements.
* Join a growing community to learn and share best practices and mentor others within the User Centred Design Practice.
* Work on UK public sector client with strong understanding of GDS service standards, GOV.UK design system patterns, and assessment processes.
* Start during the 1st or 2nd week of September for a 6‑month contract.
Qualifications
* Design thinking and evidence-based design: strong understanding of design thinking and applying frameworks as appropriate; evidence-based approach to testing assumptions to ensure simple, feasible user solutions.
* Concepts and prototyping: ability to create and iterate prototypes with appropriate fidelity and tools; evaluate concepts and prototypes and explain them to stakeholders; apply and adapt design patterns and participate in broader design discussions.
* Experience of accessible/inclusive design: understand and apply key principles; evaluate designs against accessibility standards.
* Focus on users and their needs: undertake basic user research as appropriate; collaborate with user researchers to test usability and accessibility; design to meet a wide range of user needs and explain design decisions and constraints.
* Knowledge and experience of design standards: understand common design standards and ensure compliance; aware of UK public sector design standards and GDS assessment processes.
* Consultancy skills: communicate design processes and decisions effectively; manage stakeholders and escalate issues when unblocking design work.
* Agile working in multidisciplinary teams: align work to agile workflows across the development lifecycle; work in an open, iterative, collaborative way.
