Graduate Building Surveyor Location: Manchester (with site travel as required) Salary: £28,000 £32,000 per annum Working Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday About the Company: We are a growing commercial property consultancy and development support team, providing professional advice and project oversight across a substantial portfolio of office and industrial properties throughout the North West and West Midlands. Our team works across the full lifecycle of commercial property projects, from pre-acquisition surveys and planning through to refurbishment, development, and construction delivery. We collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and specialist consultants to deliver high-quality projects across our portfolio. The Role: We are seeking a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our expanding Building Consultancy team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of surveying and project management activities. You will work closely with experienced surveyors and project managers, developing your skills while working towards professional accreditation with RICS. You will be involved in projects from initial surveys and planning through to construction and completion, gaining valuable exposure to the commercial property sector. Key Responsibilities: Assist with pre-acquisition building surveys and schedules of condition Support planning and building regulation applications Help manage design and refurbishment projects under senior supervision Assist with contract administration and site monitoring Conduct defect analysis and assist with the preparation of technical reports Support health and safety compliance on site, including CDM and DDA procedures Liaise with sub-consultants, contractors, and project teams Develop client-facing communication and project management skills Assist in managing projects from inception through to completion under senior guidance About You: We are looking for someone enthusiastic, organised, and eager to build a career in building surveying. You will ideally have: A degree (or near completion) in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline A strong interest in developing a career within commercial property and construction A good understanding of technical drawings and specifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organisation and time management abilities A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced professionals An ambition to work towards RICS membership Familiarity with project management software such as Procore (or similar) would be advantageous.
