About the Role
YPOP operates from an eight-acre private facility designed to deliver structured, high-quality walking experiences. Our services include solo walks, structured group walks, and adventure group walks. We are seeking a professional, confident, and reliable dog walker who can uphold our standards of safety, care, and customer service.
Candidate Requirements
* Dog Experience:
* Demonstrated hands-on experience working with dogs in a professional or structured environment, or
* Current ownership of a dog you have personally trained. Childhood-only pet experience is not sufficient.
* Transport:
* A reliable, well-maintained vehicle capable of safely transporting 4–6 dogs, or willingness to change or upgrade to a suitable vehicle.
* Equipment:
* YPOP can provide all equipment, or you may use your own if it meets professional quality standards.
Professional Standards
* Timekeeping:
* Strict punctuality is essential. The daily schedule, client commitments, and group walk structure rely heavily on dependable time management.
* Presentation:
* Clean, professional appearance is required. While the work involves mud and outdoor environments, we expect a well-presented, respectful, and professional demeanour when interacting with clients and the public.
* Care & Training Approach:
* Provide premium care for every dog in your charge.
* Use balanced, fair, and humane training methods that align with YPOP's standards.
* Prioritise the dogs' wellbeing and safety at all times, including during transport, handling, and group management.
Skills and Competencies
* Confident in managing dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including nervous, untrained, and behaviourally challenging dogs.
* Strong situational awareness and adherence to YPOP protocols to maintain safety and structure.
* Ability to clean and care for dogs upon drop-off, ensuring they return home in appropriate condition.
* Willingness to learn and grow—this role offers significant exposure to behavioural observation, body language interpretation, and structured walk management.
* Reliable follow-up with clients through our app, providing accurate walk summaries and professional communication after each service.
