Advanced practitioner professional lead

NHS Highland is seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Professional Lead (APPL) to provide advanced clinical and professional leadership to Wester Ross Community Nursing services.

This is a key senior role supporting a geographically wide and diverse rural area, working closely with Integrated Team Leaders, caseload holders and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, effective and high quality community nursing services.

Role

• Provide advanced clinical assessment, expert decision making and complex case management within community settings
• Offer professional and clinical leadership to community nursing teams across Wester Ross
• Support patient safety, clinical standards, governance and quality improvement
• Lead and support staff development, competence, supervision and education
• Work collaboratively across health and social care partners in a rural setting

Team

You will work within the Wester Ross Community Nursing teams, supporting Band 6 caseload holders and community nurses delivering care across a large and remote area. The post provides dedicated leadership capacity to Wester Ross, strengthening resilience, staff support and quality of care.

Requirements

• NMC registered Adult Nurse with the Specialist Practitioner Qualification (District Nursing).
• An experienced autonomous practitioner with strong clinical leadership skills.
• Confident in managing complexity, professional practice and service improvement.
• Committed to person centred, safe and effective community based care.
• A full driving licence is essential and a pool car may be available for work purposes but the use of own vehicle will be required.
• Community nursing or advanced practice experience in rural or remote settings is desirable.
