Electrician, Public Sector (NIHE) Portadown
Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), to recruit an Electrician based in Portadown. This organisation manages over 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 staff throughout NI.
Your new role
Response Maintenance Electricians typically receive an NIHE vehicle and travel directly from home to their first job, undertaking repairs on NIHE properties covered by each depot.
This role involves responding to nighttime and weekend maintenance call-outs on a rota basis. Call-out payments and a standby allowance are available in addition to the salary. Response Electricians may occasionally be required to work temporarily in other depots due to work demands.
Electrical Health and Safety Testing
Electricians are engaged in a 5-year province-wide inspection programme. They are assigned to Cloughfern Depot for administrative purposes and generally undertake testing within a reasonable travel distance from their home. Testing Electricians are provided with an NIHE vehicle and travel directly from home to their first job.
Requirements
* Successfully completed a time-served or skills-based electrical apprenticeship.
* 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification.
