Accountable to: Operations Manager / Operations Director
The Compliance Manager & Estimator will combine technical arboricultural expertise with strong customer service and operational oversight. You will carry out tree condition surveys, inspections, and prepare quotations for proposed works, while ensuring all projects meet health and safety, environmental, and industry compliance standards.
This role also involves building strong relationships with clients, clearly communicating expectations, and providing technical advice to internal teams and stakeholders in a way that reflects our values.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed site inspections and tree condition surveys.
* Prepare accurate quotations, reports, and method statements within agreed deadlines.
* Present bids to clients, answer queries, and clarify scope of works.
* Accurately cost and specify requirements for each project.
* Build and maintain positive client relationships through respectful, clear communication and great service.
Compliance & Technical Oversight
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, planning regulations, and British Standards (including BS3998).
* Monitor health and safety and environmental compliance across projects.
* Provide technical arboricultural advice to clients, contractors, and colleagues.
* Oversee tree protection measures on-site and from the office.
* Keep up to date with industry best practice and share knowledge with the team to promote continuous improvement.
General

Key Responsibilities:
* Minimum 4 years’ industry experience.
* Knowledge of BS3998 and relevant planning regulations.
* Experience preparing quotations and arboricultural reports.
* Experience with tree work contracts, method statements and tree work compliance including the Arboricultural association approved contractors scheme.
* Experience working with local authorities and planning departments.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
* Professional, proactive approach to problem solving.
* Experience with subsidence and insurance claims relating to trees.
* Familiarity with Visual Tree Assessment techniques and decay detection tools.
Personal Specification
Qualifications
* Level 3 – 4 Qualification in Arboriculture (or equivalent).
* LANTRA Basic or Professional Tree Inspection.
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of BS3998 and relevant planning regulations.
* Proficient IT skills, including CRM systems.
* Experience preparing quotations and arboricultural reports.
* Experience with tree work contracts, method statements and tree work compliance including the Arboricultural association approved contractors scheme.
* Experience working with local authorities and planning departments.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
* Professional, proactive approach to problem solving.
