Description
The job itself
Hi, I'm a 10-year-old boy with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair and have recently started using an eye gaze tracker to communicate, though I also use facial expressions to show how I'm feeling. Once you get to know me you will find out that I am a cheeky Chappy with the biggest smile.
I'm looking for someone to support me with my daily life, including moving, handling, and personal care. I need someone to keep an eye on me and support me during my daily physiotherapy sessions. I also want to be empowered to be as independent as I can, so I can still enjoy being a young person, doing the things I love, and working towards my rehabilitation goals. If you're the right person, my family and I will provide the training you need to make sure I stay safe, happy, and supported in reaching my goals.
I'm a big Hull City fan and enjoy watching football with my mum, dad, and my two younger brothers. I really enjoy being outside, so you'll often find me out and about having adventures. I also need someone to take me to my activities after school and on weekends, so a driving licence is a must!
The hours for this role would be 15 hours per week during term time, and 20 hours per week during school holidays.
If you're kind, patient, and willing to learn how to support me, I'd love to hear from you. You'll be helping me have fun, stay safe, and achieve the things I want to in life while empowering me to be as independent as possible.
