We currently have excellent opportunities for Project Civil Engineers to join our civil engineering department in Stanford-Le-Hope due to our exciting expansion of the Port. This position will support the Head of Civil Engineering as well as a diverse group of engineering managers in the large-scale construction and development of the site. You will coordinate fast-paced projects with various contractors.
About The Role
How will you contribute:
1. Organize and manage third-party suppliers, consultants, and contractors providing engineering services to London Gateway.
2. Coordinate with planning, environment, legal, estates, property, and other internal departments involved in civil engineering projects.
3. Implement assigned projects, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.
4. Monitor and supervise civil, building works, and services contracts.
5. Coordinate on-site works between contractors, ensuring quality control and addressing non-conformities.
6. Keep records and monitor the use of in-house construction materials and volumes.
7. Undertake basic site setting out/surveying and monitoring activities.
8. Monitor project budgets and claims, escalating issues as necessary.
9. Report on contract progress and advise on actions to keep projects on schedule.
10. Prepare and review documentation for regulatory approvals and contracts.
11. Liaise with project stakeholders and consultants.
12. Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects at London Gateway.
13. Manage design works by consultants.
14. Administer contracts for minor works and support the Head of Civil Engineering in major works.
15. Report to senior management on contract progress and budgets, advising on necessary actions.
16. Ensure compliance with safety standards and report incidents.
17. Maintain professional qualifications and ensure completion of sponsored university education.
What will you Bring
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
1. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
2. Proven civil engineering experience, preferably in Marine or Port environments.
3. Experience with port development, logistics parks, or warehousing projects is advantageous.
4. Experience managing projects, budgets, and working with design consultants and procurement.
5. Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office applications.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Knowledge of AutoCAD.
8. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Additional Requirements

* Possession of a valid UK driving license.
* No unspent criminal convictions.
