Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Credentialed as a Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) Nurse by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) within one (1) year of date of hire required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required. Job Description : To provide a high level of nursing care as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse (WOCN) by managing conditions such as stomas, draining wounds, fistulas, vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, neuropathic wounds, urinary continence, fecal incontinence, and functional disorders of the bowel and bladder.
