East Kilbride & District Engineering Group Training Association (EKGTA) is a charitable, non-profit training provider established in 1966 by local engineering companies. For almost 60 years, we have specialised in delivering high-quality Modern Apprenticeship training and technical skills development, shaping the future workforce for Scotland's engineering sector.
We are a one stop shop for Engineering Apprenticeships – delivering all three components of a Modern Apprenticeship – Vocational Skills, Academic Qualification & On The Job Support.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Engineering Skills Coach to join our Training Delivery Team. In this rewarding role, you will guide, mentor, and assess engineering apprentices, supporting them to achieve nationally recognised qualifications and develop the skills needed for successful careers.
You will deliver high-quality training in both workshop and classroom settings, assess learners against awarding body standards, and provide one-to-one coaching to help each trainee reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and structured training in your area of engineering expertise (e.g. mechanical, electrical, fabrication).
* Support and coach apprentices, tailoring approaches to individual learning needs.
* Assess and record learner competence in line with SQA/EAL standards and funding body requirements.
* Provide constructive feedback and conduct progress reviews & evaluations.
* Work closely with our Lecturers & Advisors to ensure workplace training complements off-the-job learning.
* Contribute to continuous improvement in training delivery and learner experience.
About You
* Time-served engineer with practical experience in your discipline.
* A genuine interest in teaching, coaching, or mentoring young people and adult learners.
* Assessor/Verifier qualifications (A1/D32/33, TAQA) are desirable, but full training will be provided if you do not currently hold them.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire confidence in others.
