Associate Project Manager

RS Group is presently in search of an Associate Project Manager for a permanent role. In this position, you will assume responsibility for delivering projects of a similar nature within RS. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience working on progressively larger projects, with the ultimate goal of advancing to the position of Project Manager and eventually Senior Project Manager within RS.
What you’ll be doing
1. Assume accountability for defining, documenting, and successfully executing small to medium-sized projects, under the guidance of Senior Project Managers. This involves collaborating with and overseeing internal and external stakeholders throughout all project phases.
2. Develop and maintain realistic project, quality, and risk plans. Monitor and manage team performance against these plans, ensuring effective financial and project progress forecasting. Report findings as necessary.
3. Supervise and manage allocated human and material resources, revenue costs, and capital costs against the project budget. Implement and utilize a change control procedure to assess the impact of project changes on costs, timelines, and resource requirements. Report any changes to project sponsors promptly.
4. Lead one or more project teams, including task allocation, monitoring, staff motivation, and performance support.
5. Facilitate formal project closure and subsequent reviews, capturing lessons learned and implementing appropriate actions.
6. Evaluate and recommend/decide on technical options in alignment with Whitbread's technical strategies.
7. Operate within the established organizational governance framework, possibly under the oversight of a project/program management office.
8. Serve as the primary liaison between customer and supplier organizations, facilitating effective communication channels.
9. Occasional UK travel, including overnight stays, may be necessary to support site migrations and attend supplier meetings, with expenses reimbursed according to Company Policy.
About you
The ideal candidate for the Project Manager role should possess prior experience in change management, preferably within an IT setting, overseeing small projects or workstreams within larger projects, or managing a Project Office. Key qualifications and attributes include:

11. Preferably, background in managing projects related to supply chain or infrastructure.
