Scale pts 23-25: £34,434 – £36,363 per annum (full time equivalent)
Actual Salary range pro rata: £27,314 – £28,843 per annum
SEN Allowance: £1,539 per annum
Hours of work: 34 hours per week (Term Time only – 195 days)
Based: Broadoak Road, Ashton Under Lyne
Commencing: September 2026
Qualifications & Experience
* A Forest School Level 3 qualification and an up-to-date Outdoor First Aid certificate (or willingness to undertake both within a training agreement). The training will be fully funded.
* Strong passion for outdoor learning and a proven ability to deliver high-quality Forest School provision.
* Previous experience of planning, leading and delivering learning activities.
* Experience or interest in working with pupils with SEND.
* Commitment to raising standards of attainment and supporting all pupils to reach their full potential.
* Ability to develop engaging learning options and manage challenging behaviour.
* Strong data‑driven assessment practice and use of pupil progress tracking.
* Resilience and emotional strength when working with challenging young people.
* Effective teamwork and positive relationship building with staff, pupils, parents and the community.
* Organised, hardworking and proactive in professional development.
Areas of Responsibility
* Plan and develop the Forest School programme in partnership with the PE and Outdoor Education lead.
* Plan, prepare and facilitate Forest School sessions for pupils aged 11‑16.
* Ensure Health & Safety and risk assessment requirements are met and continually updated.
* Supervise and support pupils with varying needs during sessions.
* Maintain an engaging, flexible and supportive learning environment.
* Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
* Provide basic first aid as required.
Additional Information
All staff are employed by the MAT and may be required to work at any site within the New Bridge Group. Candidates are encouraged to visit the school and can arrange an appointment with the school manager for further information.
