About Action Builder
Action Builder is RAFT's innovative digital platform that empowers schools and school estates to take practical action on carbon reduction and building improvements. The platform provides data-driven insights, tailored action plans, funding guidance, and educational resources to help schools move from ambition to delivery on sustainability goals.
RAFT are currently completing a soft launch with school users (free forever) and preparing for our commercial launch to school estates in autumn 2025.
The Role
RAFT are seeking an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of Action Builder from our current project management phase through to commercial launch and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to lead a mission-driven product that directly contributes to climate action in the education sector.You'll be joining at a pivotal moment as we transition from development to launch, working with a lean but expert team to scale our impact across UK schools.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
* Take full ownership of the Action Builder product roadmap and strategy
* Lead the transition from soft launch (schools) to commercial launch (school estates) in autumn 2025
* Work closely with our CTO and developer to prioritise features and technical development
* Define and implement product metrics, KPIs and success measures
* Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform product iterations
Launch & Growth
* Coordinate and execute the commercial launch strategy for school estates
* Develop go-to-market strategies for different user segments (individual schools vs. estates)
* Collaborate with in-house content experts to ensure platform messaging aligns with user needs
* Manage the transition from manual user support to automated systems
User Experience & Support
* Oversee the initial weeks of user onboarding and support during soft launch
* Work with content team members transitioning to user support roles
* Design and implement scalable user support processes and documentation
* Ensure excellent user experience across all platform touchpoints
Stakeholder Management
* Liaise with school users, estate managers, and other key stakeholders
* Present product updates and strategy to RAFT leadership and board
* Collaborate with RAFT's broader retrofit and engagement teams
* Work with funding partners and potential commercial clients
Team Leadership
* Coordinate a small, focused product team
* Work collaboratively with technical and content specialists
* Support team members through role transitions and new responsibilities
* Foster a culture of user-centricity and continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
* 3+ years product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, EdTech, or social impact sectors
* Proven track record of taking products from development through to successful commercial launch
* Strong analytical skills with experience in product metrics, user research, and data-driven decision making
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Experience managing technical teams and working closely with developers
* Understanding of user experience design and customer journey mapping
* Project management experience with ability to coordinate multiple workstreams
* Mission alignment with climate action and social impact work
Desirable Requirements
* Experience in the education sector or working with schools/public sector clients
* Knowledge of sustainability, retrofit, or climate action initiatives
* Experience with freemium or tiered pricing models
* Background in social enterprise or not-for-profit organisations
* Understanding of the UK education system (MATs, local authorities, etc.)
* Experience with customer support platform implementation
