We are working in partnership with our client to source an experienced Carpenter for a few months. The successful candidate will support a range of fabric maintenance and carpentry tasks, with a strong emphasis on fire-door remedial works ahead of an upcoming audit.This opportunity is well suited to a professional Carpenter with proven experience in public, educational, cultural, gallery or museum environments. Candidates should ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Door Remedial Works (Primary Requirement)
The core focus of this assignment is the completion of comprehensive fire-door repairs and compliance works across the estate. Candidates must demonstrate:
1. Extensive hands-on experience repairing, adjusting, and maintaining fire doors in line with current fire-safety regulations.
2. Competence in replacing and fitting intumescent strips, smoke seals, hinges, closers, locks, latches and associated ironmongery.
3. Ability to assess door performance, identify non-compliance issues, and carry out corrective actions to prepare for formal fire-door audits.
