About the Role
We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Head of Food Technology to provide strategic leadership of the subject. This role combines high-quality classroom teaching with curriculum leadership, ensuring all students experience an ambitious, inclusive and well-sequenced education.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the development and implementation of the Food Technology curriculum
* Driving high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
* Monitoring student progress and implementing effective interventions
* Line managing, coaching and developing colleagues
* Overseeing curriculum planning, schemes of work and enrichment opportunities
* Promoting high standards of behaviour, engagement and student wellbeing
* Supporting all learners, including disadvantaged students and those with additional needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong subject knowledge in Food Technology
* Experience of curriculum leadership, or the potential to step into a leadership role
* A track record of excellent teaching and improving student outcomes
* Confidence in using assessment data to inform planning and progress
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* A commitment to inclusion, high expectations and student success
