Job Advertisement: Online Sales & Customer Support Assistant
About Us:
We are a well-established, independent bathroom showroom and plumbers' merchant based in Tamworth, with over 75 years of experience serving both trade and retail customers. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on offering a personal, knowledgeable service — both in-store and increasingly, online. We're now looking to expand our team with someone who can help us grow our online sales channels while still supporting our day-to-day customer operations.
Position: Online Sales & Customer Support Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Tamworth, B77 1AG
Hours: Full-time (~38.5 hours/week) including a Saturday rota (3 on, 1 off after training)
Salary: £14/hour (~£28,000 per annum)
The Role:
We are seeking a proactive and tech-savvy Online Sales & Customer Support Assistant to help take our ecommerce offering to the next level. This hybrid role combines digital sales support with in-store customer service and product fulfilment.
You'll play a key role in enhancing our online presence, improving listings, engaging with customers digitally, and helping ensure a smooth order process — from click to delivery. You'll also assist with in-store and phone enquiries, offering the same great service our local customers have come to expect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and optimise online product listings across ecommerce platforms (pricing, descriptions, images, stock updates).
* Respond to customer enquiries via email, website, and online marketplaces.
* Process online orders, arrange shipping, and ensure prompt fulfilment.
* Support marketing initiatives such as product promotions, reviews, and social media engagement.
* Assist with trade counter and showroom customers as needed.
* Pick, pack, and dispatch orders efficiently — both local and courier.
* Help manage inventory to ensure accurate online stock levels.
* Collaborate with the wider team to grow digital sales and improve customer experience.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience with ecommerce platforms (eBay, Amazon, or similar) or willingness to learn quickly.
* Good understanding of digital tools, online shopping behaviour, and customer service best practices.
* Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer support (trade or plumbing industry a bonus).
* Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
* Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
* Organised and reliable, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
* Keen to learn about plumbing and bathroom products (training provided).
What We Offer:
* Onsite training to develop your skills and product knowledge.
* A dynamic, supportive, and friendly work environment, no two days are the same.
* Opportunities to grow and develop in the business.
* Be part of a close-knit, family-oriented team with a strong community presence.
* A friendly, supportive team and a great working atmosphere.
* The opportunity to make a real impact on the growth of our online business.
* Long-term job stability and potential for development.
If you're someone who enjoys working with tech and people, has an interest in ecommerce, and would thrive in a varied role where your input really matters — we'd love to hear from you.
