Complete all auditable functions/records required by the Company, such as Health and Safety Compliance and Food Safety Compliance, and audit paperwork for the depot to ensure compliance from first-line management. Raise awareness of the food safety system (HACCP) throughout the site.

Ensure all Coldstore staff comply with and operate within H&S and food hygiene guidelines as laid down within the company safety codes of practice.

Ensure training needs and paperwork are completed as recommended by the Company. All records should be filed and stored as requested. Maintain documentation control and site-based training to meet the standards required for the quality accreditation (CMI/STS/EHO) of our customer base.

Control, manage, and prioritize engineers and maintenance/service frequencies on site using relevant tools (9080 job log).

Manage warehouse operational activities including budgeting, labor scheduling, space and equipment management, safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation. Ensure that people, processes, and technology enable meeting all customer service standards.

Manage, train, provide performance feedback, and assign duties to direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Continuously improve operational procedures such as verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and moving merchandise, and maintaining warehouse inventory.

Partner with sales, inventory control, and operations support to ensure product availability.

Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and management input.

Facilitate the achievement of company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost, productivity, customer service, profits, and team development.

Operate the facility in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of safety among team members.

Analyze operational reports to identify trends and recommend solutions to management.

Build and maintain partnerships with other departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Continuous Improvement.

What are we looking for?

A strong leader with drive and a well-developed ability to identify and resolve problems.

Proven experience in successfully managing a large warehouse operation.

Experience leading a large team and working as a second-line manager.

Confident user of warehouse management systems (WMS).

High experience in warehouse management, logistics, and distribution.

Proven record in people management.

PC literate.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel daily to the Heywood location.
