Offer description

Pandemic Sciences Institute, Li Ka Shing Centre for Health and Information Discovery, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7LF About the role We are currently seeking a highly organised Project Manager (Clinical Research) to coordinate and support international, multi-collaborator clinical research projects in the field of emerging infectious diseases. This is a dynamic, challenging and varied role, with a chance to develop your project management skills in a group with an ambitious mission and a global reach. It is anticipated that you will initially spend approximately 75% of your time supporting ISARIC, a network of clinical research networks, whose Global Support Centre is hosted by the Pandemic Sciences Institute, and 25% of your time focused on NAVIPP, supporting an international platform dedicated to the development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs targeting pathogens with pandemic potential. The time allocation may change over time according to project workload and priorities. As part of this role, you will provide a coordinated approach to multiple integrated activities, while ensuring internal visibility and synergy. Within ISARIC, you will support the strategic objective of enabling local leadership by collaborating partners in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Within NAVIPP you will support the Nipah therapeutics target product profile (Nipah TPP) development project, liaising closely with the Principal Investigator and the consultants engaged to deliver the Nipah TPP. You will therefore be confident in developing positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will plan the project stages, manage complex dependencies, and determine resource needs. Through strong communications, you will ensure that you stay abreast of the project research priorities, and act as the point of contact. You will monitor research work by project partners to identify potential issues and to provide solutions, and ensure objectives are met within deadlines. This is an ideal post for an experienced and confident project manager with the maturity to adapt to working in an outbreak response environment. It is essential that you are educated to undergraduate level in a relevant field and have significant relevant project management experience, with a strong understanding of managing the complexities of scientific research projects. You will have highly developed problem solving and organisation skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including exercising good judgment, diplomacy and with the ability to inspire the confidence of senior colleagues and external stakeholders.
