This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a professional administrative career within the legal sector.As a Junior Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the Practice Managers and Barristers with administrative, diary and case-management duties. You will be part of a small, friendly team of four, stepping into a vacancy due to a team member embarking on a new opportunity in January 2026.This role offers excellent exposure to the legal environment, structured development, and the chance to learn from experienced clerks and legal professionals.Hours: Monday to Friday - full-time, 40 hours per weekWorked between 08:00 and 18:00 (e.g., 08:00-17:00 or 08:30-17:30). 1-hour lunch breakHybrid option: After a successful 6-month probation period, you may work from home 1 day per week (business needs permitting)Key Responsibilities:Managing Counsel diaries, taking bookings and completing conflict checksUpdating LEX with bookings, case information, correspondence and recordsMonitoring upcoming hearings, checking Court Serve/court listings and notifying Counsel of any changesLiaising with clients regarding availability, deadlines and allocation of work (with guidance)Recording movement of any hard-copy documents when receivedAssisting with fee discussions for junior Counsel under direction of Practice ManagersSupporting billing activity using LEXMaintaining knowledge of Counsel workloads and practice areasAssisting with meetings, events, business development follow-up and team administrationSupporting pupil development tasks as neededBenefits:25 days annual leave (rising to 28)Stakeholder pension: employer 3%, employee 5%+After 6 months: Private Health Insurance, Death in Service (4 salary), Permanent Income Protection
