South Thames Colleges Group is seeking a Head of Exams & Assessment to act as the primary point of contact for senior management. You will oversee the Central Exams Unit and line manage the Senior Exams & Assessment Officers across the Group to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, liaison with teaching staff, students and parents ensuring high standards and regulatory compliance in all examination activities across the Group.
Maintaining a thorough and current understanding of JCQ and awarding body regulations, updating processes and procedures to ensure full compliance and continuous improvement, you will develop and implement strategic exam and assessment policies, procedures, and risk management practices to support institutional goals and compliance.
As our Head of Exams and Assessment, we would like you to have substantial experience in exams or assessments administration, with strong leadership capabilities. You will have proven experience in managing and leading a team in a regulated, deadline-driven environment with strong knowledge of JCQ and awarding body requirements and regulations.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders with strategic thinking skills and a meticulous and methodical approach to work. You will have excellent IT skills, including advanced proficiency with Excel, EBS/EBS Exams, and other exam management systems, able to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), have prior experience working in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of curriculum and exam cycles and experience managing budgets and expenditure within a similar role.
