Main duties of the job
Dispense in-patient,one-stop and discharge medication requests including stock supplies anddistribution of drugs to wards and peripheral hospitals as per standardoperating procedures.
Dispense ward stockand TTO (to take out) controlled drugs, ensuring that prescriptions and ordersconform to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Be the AccreditedChecking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and complete final accuracy checking slotswithin the dispensary if needed.
Monitor the Emergencyand Controlled Drug cupboards. Ensuring stock and orders are placed, specimensignatures are updated, monthly stock takes are done and ward requisitions arecompleted within turnaround times and escalate any discrepancies.
Provide a ward top up service of stockmedicines if required and work with the ward manager, pharmacist and pharmacystores team to support stock list review as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Be an Accredited Checking Technician.
* NVQ level 3 Pharmacy services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience or awareness of ward based or medicine management technician roles.
