Job Description
WSP is looking for a Consultant/Senior level professional in Healthcare Assets and Partnerships to join the Healthcare Assets and Partnerships (HSLA) team. The role focuses on NHS business case development, primary care planning, integrated healthcare hub strategy, and capital project consultancy.
About the Role
The position involves working with NHS trusts, ICBs, GP partners and independent hospitals to deliver strategic advisory and project delivery expertise. Based in London or Birmingham, it offers hybrid working options.
Key Responsibilities
* Support NHS business case development for new healthcare facilities, including primary care business cases.
* Deliver healthcare planning services from market analysis, activity and capacity modelling to strategic operating plans (SOAs) and design support.
* Develop estate strategies across PCNs, NHS trusts, and Integrated Care Systems.
* Assist in move planning into new hospitals.
* Provide PPP, Facilities Management, and healthcare service transformation consultancy.
* Deliver digital healthcare services and project, programme and cost management support.
* Advise on property management and facility management best practices.
* Research, analyse data, and present findings verbally, in writing, or graphically.
* Prepare project plans, programmes, tender submissions and presentations.
* Co‑facilitate workshops and chair meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
* UK/NHS health sector experience in a professional services consultancy.
* Proven track record in NHS business case development, primary care planning, and integrated hub strategy.
* Experience preparing tender submissions and winning new work, including external networking.
* Degree qualified.
* Professional qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APMPQ, Better Business Cases Practitioner, MSc in Planning Buildings for Health, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of NHS property and capital project policy, guidance, and stakeholders.
* Understanding of construction and property lifecycle and risk management.
* Strong communication skills, ability to engage sensitively with diverse stakeholders.
* Commercially astute, recognising opportunities and constraints.
* Excellent MS Office and spreadsheet skills.
