Band 5 Staff Nurse – Paediatric Haematology & Oncology
You will be supported to grow, develop specialist expertise and contribute to a service that changes lives across the West of Scotland and beyond.

Location & Duration:
* Royal Hospital for Children
* Fixed‑term for 6 months
* Days, nights and weekend working
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, effective and person‑centred nursing care to children and young people within the paediatric haematology and oncology setting
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team
* Build trusting therapeutic relationships through clear, sensitive and professional communication
* Contribute to the delivery of specialist and high dependency care, including bone marrow transplant and systemic anti‑cancer therapies once trained
* Maintain accurate, timely and confidential documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
* Support health promotion, discharge planning and education for children and families to enable safe care at home
* Actively participate in audit, research, service improvement and the ongoing development of evidence‑based practice
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications & Experience Required
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
* Evidence of relevant post‑registration experience or strong interest in paediatric nursing
* Sound knowledge of holistic child and family‑centred care within an acute clinical setting
* Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
* Commitment to ongoing professional development, mandatory training and NMC revalidation
* Awareness of clinical governance, patient safety and professional accountability
* Willingness to undertake specialist training, including chemotherapy administration as appropriate
