Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager
Southampton
£55,000 per annum. Bonus opportunities available.
Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week 07:00 – 16:30. Flexibility required.

Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated VMU Manager, who leads by example and inspires the team around them.

Day to day, you will be:
To plan and control your workforce resource availability to meet your customer’s fleet demands.
To manage and control labour costs, including any use of third parties.
To comply with safety audits and manage working code of practice for contractors.
Ensuring planning for facilities, bays, machines, tools, diagnosis installations, etc. are carried out correctly, optimal design of workplaces and processes.
Preparing planning and calculations for investments in workshops, facilities and HR, together with the company management.
Regularly review prices for workshop services and after prior agreement with management, adapt them to suit the market.
Measure and report on daily workshop performance around retail sales, warranty and internal contract.
WIP management and cash control.
Employing new staff and carrying out effective induction.
Managing, coaching and motivating employees, ensuring retention of high-quality team members.
Defining target agreements with employees and reviewing the level of target achievement.
⚙️Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
Qualifications- Qualification - You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in Vehicle Repair and maintenance. Also, previous experience in a similar role and industry is preferred.

Communication- It sounds simple, but communication is at the heart of this role. You need to love being the first point of contact for those in your team and inspiring them through engaging and motivating communication.
