Job Description
This role is part of PA’s Systems Insights & Solutions team. As a Principal Consultant in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) you will lead projects that enable clients across the Aerospace & Defence sector to deliver new products, driving digital engineering solutions.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Product and Technology Portfolio Management
* Programme Delivery and Governance
* Mission‑Driven Systems Engineering
* Multi‑Disciplinary Design and Optimisation
* Connected Verification and Certification
* Smart Manufacturing
* Value Chain Collaboration & Intelligence
* Optimised Sustainment and Availability
Typical projects will include:
* PLM diagnostic and business case development
* Defining business architecture, operating model, requirements and PLM solution blueprint
* Leading PLM transformation and optimisation initiatives
Qualifications
Essential qualifications and experience:
* 10+ years PLM experience, with a proven ability to design and deploy solutions using major PLM vendors (Siemens advantage)
* Deep hands‑on expertise in core PLM processes: BOM and change management, variant/options, CAD/CAE integration, ALM/requirements traceability, maintenance and through‑life support
* Business acumen: experience shaping business cases and implementation roadmaps, and engaging executive stakeholders on PLM strategy
* Prior consulting experience, including client stakeholder management and full engagement lifecycle delivery
Desirable qualifications and experience:
* Degree in engineering or related discipline
* Proficiency in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, TOGAF, EIA‑649, STEP/PLCS, AS9145, ISO 9001/27001, and understanding of defence export‑control constraints
* Experience in defence or other discrete manufacturing industries
